覺寤（上江岳反考聲云覺明也廣雅云覺亦知也說文從見從學省聲也經從告作寤非也下五故反考聲云寐中有所見覺而信也聲類云寤亦覺也說文從吾從㝱省聲經作窹通俗字也）。

覺寤 [Awakening] (The first character has the fanqie: 江 + 岳. The Kaosheng says: “覺 means clear.” The Guangya says: “覺 also means to know.” The Shuowen jiezi says: “Classified under the radical 見 with the phonetic 學 abbreviated.” In the sūtra it is written with 告 as 寤, which is incorrect. The second character has the fanqie: 五 + 故. The Kaosheng says: “Seeing something in sleep, and awakening to understand it.” The Shenglei says: “寤 also means to awaken.” The Shuowen jiezi says: “Classified under the radical 吾 with the phonetic 㝱 abbreviated.” In the sūtra it is written as 窹, which is a commonly used vulgar character).
