憮然（莫禹反三蒼失意皃也怪愕之辭也論語夫子憮然何晏曰為其不達已意而非之漢書憮然韋昭日意未言也）。

Startled and disappointed (憮然: mò + yǔ fanqie. The Sancang says: 'The appearance of disappointment'; an expression of alarm and astonishment. The Lunyu says: 'The Master was startled and disappointed (憮然).' He Yan says: 'Because they did not understand his intent and criticized him.' The Hanshu says: '憮然 means intending to speak but not yet doing so').
