庠序（徐陽反下古文䦻同徐舉反學也謂儀容有法度也周曰庠夏曰序白虎通曰庠之言詳也以詳禮儀之所也序序長幼也）。

庠序 [schools] ([pronounced with the] fanqie 徐陽 [xiáng]; the following character in ancient script is written as 䦻; the same; [pronounced with the] fanqie 徐舉 [xù]; meaning schools; that is, deportment having rules and standards; the Zhou called them 庠, the Xia called them 序; the Baihu tong says: '庠 is spoken of as deliberation (詳), a place to deliberate on ritual and propriety; 序 is to order (序) the elders and the young').
