菸瘦（韻集一余反今關西言菸山東言蔫蔫音於言反江南亦言𣨙𣨙又作萎於為反菸邑無色也今取其義論文作𮌠未詳字出之耳）。

菸瘦 (The Yunji gives the fanqie 一余 [yū]. Today west of the Pass people say 菸; east of the Mountains they say 蔫, with the fanqie 於言 [yān]. South of the Yangtze they also say 𣨙; 𣨙 is also written 萎, with the fanqie 於為 [wěi]. 菸 means withered and devoid of color. Here we adopt this meaning. The treatise text writes 𮌠, a character whose provenance is not yet clear.)
