溷殽（上魂穩反廣雅云溷濁也鄭注孔記云辱也說文云亂也從水圂聲論本作混音𬡄說文云水豊流皃非溷濁字也圂音魂困反下效交反賈逵國語注云殽雜也廣雅云乱也說文云殽相錯也從殳肴聲殳音殊肴音㕛經本從水作淆者俗字也）。

溷殽 (The first character is *hun* + *wen* fanqie; the *Guangya* says: "溷 means turbid." Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary to the *Liji* says: "To disgrace." The *Shuowen* says: "Disorderly; derived from 水 with 圂 phonetic." In the treatise text it is written as 混, pronounced *hun*; the *Shuowen* says: "The appearance of water flowing abundantly, not the character for turbid"; 圂 is *hun* + *kun* fanqie. The second character is *xiao* + *jiao* fanqie; Jia Kui's commentary to the *Guoyu* says: "殽 means mixed." The *Guangya* says: "Confused." The *Shuowen* says: "殽 means intermingled; derived from 殳 with 肴 phonetic; 殳 is pronounced *shu*, 肴 is pronounced *you*." The scripture text writing it with the water radical as 淆 is a vulgar character).
