番禺（上判瞞反下遇俱反漢書云番禺南海郡縣名也說文番字從釆田象形也禺字從田禸聲釆音辨田音甫勿反禸音柔九反）。

番禺 (The first character is *pan* + *man* fanqie; the second character is *yu* + *ju* fanqie; the *Hanshu* says: "Panyu is the name of a county in Nanhai Commandery." The *Shuowen* says: "The character 番 is derived from 釆 and 田, a pictograph; the character 禺 is derived from 田 with 禸 phonetic; 釆 is *bian*, 田 is *fu* + *wu* fanqie, and 禸 is *rou* + *jiu* fanqie").
