忼慨（上康浪反王逸注楚辭之謂中情恚恨心切剝也說文云忼慨也從心亢聲論本從康作慷俗字久行於代也亢音同下開代反頋野王云志憤肚也歎息也說文云忼慨壯士不得志也從心既聲）。

忼慨 (The first character is *kang* + *lang* fanqie; Wang Yi's commentary to the *Chuci* says: "It means inner feelings of resentment and bitter indignation." The *Shuowen* says: "忼 means impassioned; derived from 心 with 亢 phonetic." The treatise text writes it with 康 as 慷, a vulgar character long used in the world; 亢 has the same pronunciation. The second character is *kai* + *dai* fanqie; Gu Yewang says: "Indignation in the mind; sighing deeply." The *Shuowen* says: "忼慨 refers to a valiant person failing to achieve his aims; derived from 心 with 既 phonetic").
