揆模（上葵癸反毛詩傳曰揆度也度音徒各反桂苑珠叢商量測度於事曰揆下莫胡反字林云模法也字從木莫聲考聲云摸形也規模也字書云模樣也有從扌音手作摸摸取也非此中義或作㷻㷻皆古字也）。

Standard model (揆模: the first character has the fanqie 葵癸反; the Mao commentary on the Shijing states: "Kui (揆) means to measure (度);" 度 has the fanqie 徒各反. The Guiyuan zhucong states: "To deliberate and measure in affairs is called kui." The second character has the fanqie 莫胡反; the Zilin states: "Mu (模) means standard/model." The character takes the wood radical with 莫 as phonetic. The Kaosheng states: "Mo means form; it means a standard model." Character glossaries state: "Pattern." Some write it with the hand radical (扌, sound 手) as 摸, meaning to take by grasping; that is not the meaning here. It is also written as 㷻 or 㷻, both of which are ancient graphs).
