醜陋（上昌首反毛詩傳云醜惡也從鬼酉聲下郎豆反王逸註楚辭云陋小也言其卑陋醜惡也說文云阨陿也從阜[└@丙]勒豆反聲也）。

Ugly and repulsive (醜陋: the first character has the fanqie 昌首反; the Mao commentary on the Shijing states: "Chou (醜) means vile; from the ghost radical with 酉 as phonetic." The second character has the fanqie 郎豆反; Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci states: "Lou (陋) means small; referring to its meanness and ugliness." The Shuowen jiezi states: "Narrow; from the mound radical (阜) with [└@丙] (fanqie 勒豆反) as phonetic").
