荼毒（上杜胡反毛詩云寧為荼毒之行惡誰謂荼毒其甘如薺爾雅云荼苦菜也古今正字云從草余聲）。

荼毒 (The first character has the fanqie: 杜胡反 [tú]. The Mao Classic of Poetry says: "Rather engage in acts of bitter affliction (荼毒)"; "Who says the bitter weed (荼) is bitter? It is sweet as shepherd's purse." The Erya says: "荼 is a bitter vegetable." The Gujin zhengzi says: "Semantic with 艸, 余 is phonetic").
