Toil and distress (Fanqie: 窶 [j-] + 俱 [-u]. The Han school of poetry says: 'Qu means repeatedly.' The Mao commentary on the Shijing says: 'Qulao means weariness and illness.' Shuo is pronounced here as fanqie 所 [suo] + 角 [jiao]).
