堤塘（上底泥反考聲堤防也限也梁也郭注爾雅橋也說文塘也或從阜作隄下蕩郎反塘者培土為路也塘亦堤也或從阜作䧜也）。

堤塘 'Embankments and dikes' (The first character is fanqie 底 + 泥. The Kaosheng states: 'A 堤 is a defense, a barrier, a weir.' Guo's commentary on the Erya states: 'A bridge.' The Shuowen jiezi states: 'A 塘 (dike); alternatively written with 阜 as 隄.' The second character is fanqie 蕩 + 郎; a 塘 is mounded earth forming a road; a 塘 is also an embankment (堤); alternatively written with 阜 as 䧜).
