噓唏（上許居反鄭注禮記云噓[佫-口+思]之聲也顧野王云口出氣曰噓說文亦出氣也從口虛聲下喜衣反言唏痛也哀而不泣也說文從口希聲）。

噓唏 (The first character has the fanqie 許 + 居. Zheng's commentary on the Liji says: '噓 is the sound of sighing.' Gu Yewang says: 'Exhaling breath from the mouth is called 噓.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'It also means exhaling breath. Formed from the classifier 口 ("mouth") and the phonetic 虛.' The second character has the fanqie 喜 + 衣. It speaks of grieving and sobbing: mourning without [tears of] crying. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Formed from the classifier 口 ("mouth") and the phonetic 希.').
