弭謗（彌俾反毛詩傳云弭止息也韓詩弭滅也賈注國語弭忘也說文從弓耳聲）。

弭謗 [Putting an end to slander]: [弭 is pronounced with the fanqie] 彌 + 俾 [mǐ]. The commentary to the Shijing states: '弭 means to cease and halt.' The Han school commentary to the Shijing states: '弭 means to extinguish.' Jia's commentary to the Guoyu states: '弭 means to forget.' The Shuowen jiezi says it is derived from 弓 with 耳 phonetic.
