攘禍（上讓羊反毛詩傳云攘除也王逸注楚辭排也鄭注周禮云却也說文從手襄聲下胡臥反古文從歹作𣨱歹音[歹*又]正音㮆五割反）。

攘禍 (The first character has the fanqie *r[àng] + [y]áng*. The Mao Commentary on the Shijing states: "*Rang* means to eliminate." Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci states: "To reject and cast out." Zheng's commentary on the Zhouli states: "To repel." The Shuowen jiezi states that it is analyzed as semantic 手 ('hand') and phonetic 襄. The second character has the fanqie *h[ú] + [w]ò*. In ancient-script characters it is written with semantic 歹 as 𣨱. 歹 is pronounced like [歹*又]; its orthodox pronunciation has the fanqie *[w]ǔ + [g]ē*).
