寺廟（萠[示*表]反爾雅云室有東西廂曰廟考聲云凡宮前曰廟後曰寢尚書大傳云廟者皃也白虎通云先祖之尊皃也說文云從广朝聲會意字也經作庿非也[示*表]音筆廟反）。

寺廟 ('temples and ancestral shrines'): The fanqie is [m- + eng >] méng and [b- + iao >] biào. The Erya says: 'A chamber having east and west side-wings is called a 廟 (ancestral shrine).' The Kaosheng says: 'In any palace, the front is called 廟, and the rear is called 寢 (private apartments).' The Shangshu dazhuan says: 'A 廟 is an image/appearance.' The Baihu tong says: 'It is the dignified presence of the ancestors.' The Shuowen says: 'Composed of 广 with 朝 phonetic; an associative compound character.' The sūtra writes 庿, which is incorrect. [示*表] has the fanqie [b- + i >] bǐ and [m- + iao >] miào.
