醒也 ('sobering up'): The fanqie is [x- + ing >] xīng and [t- + ing >] tǐng. The Guoyu says: 'When drunk he is angry, when sober he is pleased.' Gu Yewang says: 'The dissipation of drunkenness is called 醒.' The Gujin zhengzi says: 'Composed of 酉 with 星 phonetic.'
