睡眠（上垂類反下蔑邊反蒼頡篇睡眠熟也王逸注楚辭云眠亦臥也顧野王云寐也說文並從目垂民皆聲經作瞑非）。

睡眠 ('sleeping'; the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 垂 + 類. The second character is pronounced with the fanqie 蔑 + 邊. The Cangjie pian says: "'Shuimian' (睡眠) means sound sleep." Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci says: "'Mian' (眠) also means lying down." Gu Yewang says: "It means slumber (寐)." The Shuowen states that both are formed from [the radical] 目, with 垂 and 民 respectively as their phonetic components. The sūtra text writes 瞑, which is incorrect).
