鏢鑽（疋燒反說文刀削未銅也釋名云矛下頭曰鐏音存悶反江南名也關中謂之鑽音子亂反律文作鏢𨰭非體也）。

The end-socket and drill (鏢鑽: [鏢 is pronounced] with the fanqie *pi* + *shao* [biāo]. The *Shuowen jiezi* states: 'The copper cap at the tip of a sword sheath.' The *Shiming* says: 'The lower end of a spear is called a ferrule (鐏).' It is pronounced with the fanqie *cun* + *men* [zùn]; this is the name used south of the Yangtze. In the Guanzhong region it is called a drill (鑽), pronounced with the fanqie *zi* + *luan* [zuàn]. In the vinaya text it is written as 鏢𨰭, which is an incorrect form.).
