Make a spoon (作匕: [匕 is pronounced] with the fanqie *bi* + *yi* [bǐ]. The *Tongsuwen* states: 'In high registers it is sometimes called a ladle.' The *Shuowen jiezi* states: 'That by which food is scooped.' It is also called a *shi* [spoon], having four variant pronunciations.).
