摶食（徒丸反說文摶圜也通俗文云手團曰摶是也律文作揣說文揣量也音都果反北人行此音又初委反江南行此音揣非字義）。

Ball of food (摶食; fanqie: 徒 + 丸 [tuán]; the Shuowen says: "摶 means making round"; the Tongsu wen says: "Rolling round with the hands is called 摶", which is this; written 揣 in the Vinaya text; the Shuowen says: "揣 means measuring", fanqie: 都 + 果 [duǒ], which is used by northerners; also fanqie: 初 + 委 [chuǐ], which is used south of the Yangtze; 揣 is not the proper sense of the character here).
