行漸次行（上行字幸耕反下行字行孟反次字說文云不前不精從欠二聲也次字從二也）。

行漸次行 ("practicing the gradual progression": the upper character xíng has the fanqie 幸耕 [xíng]; the lower character xìng has the fanqie 行孟 [xìng]. For the character 次 [cì], Shuowen says: "Not advancing and not refined; composed of 欠 with 二 as the phonetic." The character cì is composed of 二.)
