循環（上夕遵反韻英云按行也考聲云順也從也說文云循行也從彳丑尺反從盾音順聲也經文從人又豎畫從千作[佸-口+目]非也下華關反鄭眾注周禮云環旋也鄭玄曰環圍也何休注公羊傳云環遶也說文云從玉從睘聲也）。

Circulating (循環: for the first character, the fanqie is 夕遵 [xún]. The Yunying says: 'To inspect and go around.' The Kaosheng says: 'To follow, to comply with.' The Shuowen says: '循 means to walk. It takes radical 彳 [chǐ] with 盾 [shùn] as phonetic.' The sūtra text writing it with radical 人, a vertical stroke, and 千 as [佸-口+目] is incorrect. For the second character, the fanqie is 華關 [huán]. Zheng Zhong's commentary on the Zhouli says: '環 means to rotate.' Zheng Xuan says: '環 means to surround.' He Xiu's commentary on the Gongyang zhuan says: '環 means to encircle.' The Shuowen says: 'It takes radical 玉 with 睘 as phonetic').
