備遭（上平媚反顧野王云僃防也鄭玄僃救也賈注國語云僃具也說文備慎也從人從用從荀省聲也或作備經文作備俗字也下祖勞反考聲遭逢也橫及也說文遭遇也從辵曹聲也或作傮亦同也亦作𣩒𣩒𣧩也）。

Suffering fully (備遭: for the first character, the fanqie is 平媚 [bèi]. Gu Yewang says: '僃 means to guard against.' Zheng Xuan says: '僃 means to rescue.' Jia [Kui]'s commentary on the Guoyu says: '僃 means to be complete.' The Shuowen says: '備 means cautious. It takes radical 人 and radical 用, with an abbreviated 荀 as phonetic.' It is also written 備. The sūtra text writes 備, which is a vulgar character. For the second character, the fanqie is 祖勞 [zāo]. The Kaosheng says: '遭 means to encounter, to meet unexpectedly.' The Shuowen says: '遭遇 [to meet with]. It takes radical 辵 with 曹 as phonetic.' It is also written 傮, having the same meaning. It is also written 𣩒, where 𣩒 means 𣧩 [calamity]').
