劬勞（強于反考聲云劬勤也劬亦勞也下勒刀反賈逵云勞疲也爾雅云勞勤也說文勞劇也從力案用力者勞也）。

Toil and labor (劬勞: for the first character, the fanqie is 強于 [qú]. The Kaosheng says: '劬 means diligent toil; 劬 is also labor.' For the second character, the fanqie is 勒刀 [láo]. Jia Kui says: '勞 means fatigued.' The Erya says: '勞 means diligent.' The Shuowen says: '勞 means severe effort. It takes radical 力.' Note: one who exerts physical strength is 勞).
