大族（叢斛反禮記五家為比比隣也五比為閭閭里也西閭為族使之相助葬也爾雅曰父之從祖昆弟為族鄭注云族聚也集訓云親也本同姓也說文矢鋒也本音子錄反假借字從㫃從矢㫃音焉謇反）。

大族 ("great clan": [fanqie] 叢斛 [zú]. Liji says: "Five households make a bǐ; bǐ means neighbors. Five bǐ make a lǘ; lǘ means a neighborhood. Four lǘ make a zú, so that they assist one another in burial." Erya says: "A father's first-cousin brothers form a clan." Zheng's commentary says: "Zú means gathering." Jixun says: "Relatives; originally of the same surname." Shuowen says: "An arrowhead." Its original pronunciation has the fanqie 子錄 [zú]; it is a phonetic loan character, composed of 㫃 and 矢; 㫃 has the fanqie 焉謇 [yǎn].)
