鼻嗅（休救反韻英鼻取氣也說文以鼻就殠曰齅從鼻臭聲古人只用臭作齅）。

鼻嗅 ("to sniff with the nose": [fanqie] 休救 [xiù]. Yunying says: "To draw in breath with the nose." Shuowen says: "Approaching an odor with the nose is called xiù." It is composed of 鼻 with 臭 as the phonetic. The ancients simply used 臭 for xiù.)
