簫笛（上音霄樂器名也說文云簫象鳳翼編小管為之二十三管長一尺四寸下音狄羌樂也七孔吹象龍聲也）。

簫笛 (The upper character is pronounced 霄 [xiāo], the name of a musical instrument. The Shuowen says: "A panpipe (xiao) resembles a phoenix's wings; made by binding together small bamboo pipes, twenty-three pipes in all, one foot four inches long." The lower character is pronounced 狄 [dí], a musical instrument of the Qiang people, with seven holes, blown to resemble the sound of a dragon).
