Shaking off (the first character has the sound of dǒu; the second is shǒu in fanqie from sāng and gǒu; the Kaosheng states: to shake vigorously [dǒusǒu] means to shake garments and articles so as to remove dust and dirt; these two characters have no fixed form, and the translators of the sūtras wrote them at will).
