篙棹（上音高許叔重注淮南子云篙謂刺船竹也長二丈或用木作下宅効反方言云檝謂之櫂從木從卓亦從翟作櫂義同從手者非也）。

Punt-pole and oar (篙棹): The first character has the pronunciation of 高. Xu Shuzhong's commentary on the Huainanzi states that 篙 refers to the bamboo used to pole a boat, twenty feet long, or sometimes made of wood. The second character has the fanqie 宅 (zh-) plus 効 (-ao). The Fangyan states that an oar (檝) is called a 櫂; it is formed with the wood radical (木) and 卓, or also written 櫂 with 翟, with the same meaning; writing it with the hand radical (扌) is incorrect.
