愀然（上酋酉反耴就字上聲考聲云愀憂也禮記日孔子愀然作色也家語云臨當刑君愀然不樂形聲字也）。

愀然 (for the first character, the fanqie is 酋 + 酉; it takes the rising tone of the character 就. The Kaosheng says: "愀 means sorrowful." The Liji says: "Confucius changed countenance with a sorrowful expression (愀然)." The Jiayu says: "When about to carry out an execution, the ruler looked sorrowful and unhappy." It is a phono-semantic character).
