啗[噯-(心/ㄆ)+(鬯*又)]（上談濫反說文云啗食也從口臽聲臽音陷律本作噉俗字也下牆藥反前第一卷已訓釋）。

啗[噯-(心/ㄆ)+(鬯*又)] (The first syllable is *dàn* [tan + lan fanqie]. The Shuowen jiezi says: "啗 (*dàn*) means to eat; it is formed with 'mouth' (口) and 臽 as the phonetic component." 臽 is pronounced *xiàn*. The Vinaya version writes 噉, which is a vulgar character. The second syllable is *yè* [qiang + yao fanqie]; it was already explained and glossed in the preceding first fascicle).
