扇樞（下觸朱反韓康伯注周易云樞機制動之主也廣雅云樞本也說文戶樞也從木區聲區音曲于反）。

扇樞 (The second syllable is *shū* [chu + zhu fanqie]. Han Kangbo's commentary on the Zhouyi says: "樞 (*shū*, hinge) is the master mechanism that controls movement." The Guangya says: "樞 (*shū*) means root or base." The Shuowen jiezi says: "The pivot of a door; it is formed with 'wood' (木) and 區 as the phonetic component." 區 is pronounced *qū* [qu + yu fanqie]).
