矛𥎞（上母侯反說文云酋矛也象形也古文作𢦵亦作𨥨下倉算反廣雅云䂎謂之鋌考聲短矛也文字典說從矛贊聲也）。

矛𥎞 (The first syllable is *máo* [mu + hou fanqie]. The Shuowen jiezi says: "A long spear; it is a pictograph." The ancient character is written as 𢦵, and also as 𨥨. The second syllable is *zàn* [cang + suan fanqie]. The Guangya says: "䂎 is called a 鋌." The Kaosheng says: "A short spear." The Wenzi dianxuo states that it is formed with 'spear' (矛) and 贊 as the phonetic component).
