根梢（稍交反考聲云梢木末也說文從木肖聲也律文從草作蕱誤也）。

Gēnshāo 根梢 (root and branch-tip: [shāo is sounded with the fanqie] sh- + [ji]āo 稍交反. The Kaosheng says: 'Shāo 梢 is the tip of a tree.' The Shuowen jiezi has it with radical 木 [wood] and 肖 as the phonetic component. In the vinaya text it is written with radical 艸 [grass] as 蕱, which is an error).
