Yellow weasel [黃𮙩]: The second character (you + jiu [yòu]) is explained in the Cang Jie pian: 'The yòu resembles a ferret and is adept at catching rats.' The Wenzi dianshuo says it is formed with 'beast' [豸] as radical and xuè [穴] as phonetic; it is sometimes written with 'dog' [犬] as [狖-八+(一/八)]. In the Vinaya text it is written as 㹨, which is a vulgar character.
