牽推 (Pulling and pushing: The first character [牽], pronounced *qian* + *yan* [qiān]. Gu Yewang states: '牽 also means to pull.' The *Gujin zhengzi* has it composed of 冂 and 牛; 冂 depicts the halter of an ox; 玄 is phonetic. The second character [推], pronounced *tui* + *lei* [tuī]. Gu Yewang states: 'Pushing forward from behind is called 推.' The *Shuowen* states: '推 means to push; composed of 手 with 隹 as phonetic').
