刪補 (The first character is 產 [chǎn] + 姦 [jiān] fanqie. Jixun says: 刪 [shān] means to pare down. Shenglei: To edit and settle. Yunquan says: To remove. Xunwen: To excise; excising means to prune. Derived from 刀 [knife] with 冊 as phonetic. 剟 is pronounced 竹 [zhú] + 劣 [liè] fanqie. 刊 is pronounced 盾 [dùn]. 冊 is pronounced 榮 [róng]. The second character is 晡 [bū] + 母 [mǔ] fanqie. Zheng's commentary on the Rites of Zhou says: 補 [bǔ] means to assist what is insufficient. Wenzidian shuo says: 補 means to patch clothes. Derived from 衣 with 甫 as phonetic).
