磨瑩（上莫波反考聲磨礪也亦研也廣雅磨珠玉使發光明也文字典說從石麻聲下縈定反廣雅瑩亦磨也說文玉色也從玉從熒省聲也熒音戶扄反）。

磨瑩 (for the first character, m- + -o in fanqie. The Kaosheng says: '磨 means to grind; also to polish.' The Guangya says: 'Polishing pearls and jade to make them emit luster.' The Wenzi dianshuo takes stone as semantic and 麻 as phonetic. For the second character, y- + -ing in fanqie. The Guangya says: '瑩 also means to polish.' The Shuowen says: 'The color of jade.' It takes jade as semantic and an abbreviated 熒 as phonetic; 熒 is pronounced h- + -iong).
