Livid bruise (青瘀: the second is pronounced [於 + 據] *yù*. The Kaosheng says: 'Congealed bad blood in the skin and flesh.' The Chuci says: 'The body wasted away and bruised.' The Shuowen says: 'Accumulated blood. It takes the radical nì and the phonetic yū'; nì is pronounced [女 + 厄] *nè*).
