Melting away (融銷; the upper character [融] is fanqie 育嵩. The Kaosheng says: '融 means to melt.' The Shuowen says: 'Vapour from cooking rising upwards.' It is composed of 鬲, with 蟲 abbreviated as phonetic. The sound of 鬲 is 曆. The lower character [銷] is fanqie 丁小焦. Zheng's commentary on the Liji says: '銷 means to disperse.' The Shuowen says: 'To melt metal.' It is composed with 'metal' (金) as semantic and 肖 as phonetic. The sound of 鑠 is fanqie 商斫).
