Drowsy and dim-sighted (𧄼瞢: the upper character has the fanqie t[éng] + [d]èng; the Kaosheng says: '𧄼瞢 is the appearance of just waking up from sleep.' The lower character has the fanqie m[ò] + [p]éng; Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: '瞢 means troubled.' The Shuowen says: 'Eyes not seeing clearly; it takes mù as radical and méng as phonetic; méng means the eyes repeatedly darting.' The upper character has the sound léng + dèng).
