膠濘 (the first character is *jiao* combined with *xiao* [fanqie: jiao-xiao], already glossed in Fascicle 78; the second character is *ning* combined with *ding* [fanqie: ning-ding]; Du's commentary on the Zuo Zhuan says: “濘 means mire.” The Kaosheng says: “Mud and mire.” The Shuowen says: “Formed with 水 [氵], with 寧 as its phonetic component.” 淖 is pronounced *nü* combined with *jiao* [fanqie: nü-jiao]).
