沮壞（上牆呂反廣雅沮塗也毛詩傳云沮亦壞也又云沮止也從水且七胥反聲也下懷䠿反聵五壞反集訓云壞敗也韻詮云自破曰壞從土從褱省聲）。

沮壞 ("ruined and broken"): The first character has the fanqie reading [dz- + -jɤ = jǔ] (牆呂反). The Guangya says: "沮 means to daub." The commentary on the Mao Shi says: "沮 also means to break down; it also says that 沮 means to stop. It is formed with the radical 水 ('water') and 且 (fanqie 七胥反) as phonetic." The second character has the fanqie reading [ɣ- + -wɛi = huài] (懷䠿反 [or 聵五壞反]). The Jixun says: "壞 means decayed." The Yunquan says: "To break of itself is called 壞. It is formed with the radical 土 ('earth') and an abbreviated 褱 as phonetic."
