Stretching out the hand (磔手: in ancient script the same as 㡯; fanqie 竹格 [zhú + gé = zhé]; the Guangya says: '磔 means to stretch; 磔 means to spread open'; the Tongsu wen says: 'To spread and extend is called 磔'; in the treatise text it is written as 磔, but its textual source is not yet found).
