Friends (朋友: [朋 is] fanqie 蒲崩; the lower character [友 is] fanqie 于久. The Shuowen jiezi says: "Those of the same school are called peng [朋]; those of the same purpose are called you [友]." The Guangya says: "You means close; it means to love.")
