逝多 (Jeta, pronounced [fanqie: 時 + 制]; here translated as "Victorious." He was the son of King Prasenajit of the kingdom of Kosala. When the crown prince was born, the king had defeated a rebel army; when the court officials reported this, he named him after the event. Formerly written 祇陀 or 移多).
