囂謗（上虛嬌反顧野王云囂猶暄譁也鄭箋詩云囂眾多皃也說文云氣出頭上也從頁㗊聲㗊音戢下博傍反考聲云謗以言毀人也詛也惡也說文謗毀也從言旁聲）。

Clamorous slander (囂謗; the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 虛嬌 [xiāo]. Gu Yewang states: '囂 (xiāo) is like clamour and noise.' Zheng Xuan's Commentary on the Classic of Poetry states: '囂 is the appearance of a great crowd.' The Shuowen jiezi states: 'It is the breath coming out above the head. It takes 頁 as radical and 㗊 as phonetic; 㗊 is pronounced 戢 [jí].' The second character is pronounced with the fanqie 博傍 [bàng]. The Kaosheng states: '謗 (bàng) means reviling someone with words; it means to curse; it means badness.' The Shuowen jiezi states: '謗 means to revile. It takes "speech" [言] as radical and 旁 as phonetic').
