孤煢（古文惸濚二形同渠營反無父曰孤無子曰獨無兄弟曰煢單也煢煢無所依也字從卂從營省聲卂音雖閏反）。

Orphaned and solitary (孤煢: anciently written in the two forms 惸 and 濚, both with the fanqie 渠營, *qióng*): Being without a father is called *gū* (orphan); being without sons is called *dú* (solitary); being without brothers is called *qióng* (destitute/alone). *Qióng* means single; *qióngqióng* means having nowhere to rely upon. The character is composed of 卂 and the abbreviated phonetic 營; 卂 has the fanqie 雖閏 (*xùn*).
