斷嗣（辭漬反爾雅嗣繼也毛詩箋云亦續也說文從口冊口音韋司聲經從扁作誤也）。

Severing posterity (斷嗣: [the second character with fanqie] *ci-zi* [sì]. Erya: “*Si* (嗣) means to succeed.” The Commentary on the Mao Shijing says: “It also means to continue.” Shuowen: “Composed of mouth (*kǒu*) and register (*cè*); *kǒu* has the sound *wéi* [wěi], with *sī* (司) as phonetic.” In the scripture it is written erroneously with *biān* (扁)).
